Acupuncture with Collin Stoll for optimal weight Loss

Over the last 20 years I have helped many people safely and effectively achieve their health and weight loss goals.   Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) have been effective in supporting weight loss and maintaining a healthy weight for over 2,000 years. Acupuncture and TCM address both the mental and physical aspects of weight loss by promoting better digestion, balanced emotions, reduced appetite and food cravings and improving your metabolism.

How it works

Acupuncture safely triggers the release of endorphins in your body calming your mind and relaxing your body.  It is clinically proven to help you deal with the daily stress, anxiety and frustration that leads to over eating and binging on fattening foods.  Endorphins also affect your digestive and hormonal systems thus acupuncture can support healthy metabolic function. Acupuncture has no serious side-effects and enhances the healing effects of prescriptions and other therapies.

Clinically Proven
A growing body of research supports the use of acupuncture and TCM in weight loss.  The International Journal of Obesity in January 2009 published a review of 31 studies on the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of obesity.  The systematic review was comprised of 3013 individual cases where acupuncture was used to reduce body weight.

The aim of this review was to critically assess evidence for reduction of body weight and to evaluate adverse events of acupuncture therapy based on the results of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that evaluate the effect of various types of acupuncture therapies.

The results of this review showed that compared to control of lifestyle, acupuncture was associated with a significant reduction of average body weight (95% confidence interval, CI) of 1.72 kg (0.50–2.93 kg) and was associated with an improvement in obesity (relative risk=2.57; 95% CI, 1.98–3.34).Acupuncture significantly reduced a body weight of 1.56 kg (0.74–2.38 kg), on average, compared to placebo or sham treatments. Acupuncture also showed more improved outcomes for body weight (mean difference=1.90 kg; 1.66–2.13 kg), as well as for obesity (relative risk=1.13; 1.04–1.22 kg), than conventional medication.

A 2003 study published in The Journal of Medical Acupuncture found that participants receiving acupuncture lost more than three times more weight than the control group. In a study conducted by the University of

Adelaide in Australia in 1998, 95 percent of the participants receiving electro-stimulation on acupuncture points reported appetite suppression. The results showed that the acupuncture group was more likely to experience a reduced appetite and to lose weight than the control group.

What to expect

During and after an acupuncture treatment many people report feeling relaxed, and focused with deeper sense of well being.  For the best results Acupuncture treatments are tailored to your specific needs for weight loss and optimal health.  After carefully reviewing your health history, especially digestive, emotional, and hormonal aspects, Collin will check your pulse to discern the general state of your energy (vitality) and measure the health of your digestive energy (vitality) in particular. Next he will look at your tongue to check for cracks, peeling, puffiness, yellow or thick white coating that might indicate digestive or metabolic imbalances leading to weight gain.  After your comprehensive consult Collin will create an integrative treatment plan designed for your individual needs. Usually treatment plans involve acupuncture once or twice a week, gentle self massage and acupressure and Chinese herbal formula.
